PHOTOGRAPHY ON CERAMICS
Femke Hoyng combines ceramics and photography. Her autonomous work consists of sculptural series inspired by women carrying water on their heads. These works, brought together under the title ‘Carriers’, reflect on water as a source of life, the resilience of women, and the unequal distribution of natural resources. Through these sculptures, the everyday acts of carrying become silent symbols of dignity, strength, and endurance.
In addition to her autonomous art, she designs work with a functional dimension in which aesthetics, sustainability, and use converge. These objects are situated at the intersection of art and daily life and invite conscious interaction.
